Fieldwork Robotics is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a ReFED Catalytic Grant Fund grantee for its Maximising the Harvest open call.

ReFED’s Catalytic Grant Fund supports the development and implementation of food waste solutions across the food system through grants supporting initiatives with high impact potential as measured by food waste and emissions reduced. Their funding is focused on companies based in the US or looking to expand into the country.

Fieldwork’s technology has the potential to save what would otherwise be wasted produce due to labour shortages. This in turn substantially impacts on food waste, food costs, and climate emissions.

This grant funding comes as Fieldwork continues to scale up its operations in the US, one of the company’s key target markets.

David Fulton, Fieldwork Robotics’ CEO, commented:

“The fact that US farms generated approximately 17 million tons of surplus food in 2023 alone is staggering.

Fieldwork is on a mission to provide raspberry growers around the globe with an innovative harvesting solution to reduce food waste, and this grant funding is a great step forward as we expand into the US market.”

Angel Veza, ReFED’s Director of Innovation, commented:

“With well over 100 applicants for this open call, the five selected grantees stood out for their high-impact solutions to food loss at the farm level—and we’re thrilled to support them in advancing their work.”
